What does Master Internship@IBM CIC offer you?

Within the scope of the 2-3 year Master Internship@IBM CIC program, we offer valuable professional experience in Consulting, which you will gain in parallel to your studies. You can complete the master study course at a university (or university of applied sciences) of your choice. The duration of studies depends on the respective university and is between two and three years. The volume of work allows you to focus sufficiently on your master's degree. Nevertheless, you can expect challenging assignments in a team-oriented and dynamic environment as well as many opportunities for active co-determination. You will also write your master's thesis in collaboration with your department.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and curious Master student to join our Enterprise Strategy team.

This is a unique opportunity to work side-by-side with experienced consultants on digital transformation, AI-driven strategy, and innovation projects.

You will support client engagements, analyze business challenges, contribute to strategy development, and help build the next generation of AI-powered consulting approaches at IBM.

If you are excited about how technologies like Agentic AI, automation or quantum computing can change entire industries, this role will give you hands-on exposure, responsibility, and room to grow.

What You’ll Do

• Support project teams in developing digital and AI-driven business strategies

• Contribute to the development of target operating models, including processes, roles, and governance concepts

• Conduct research, analyses, and problem-structuring to help solve client challenges

• Work with consultants to build presentations, storylines, and deliverables for clients

• Apply AI tools for analysis, ideation, and insights generation

• Support business case development using data, benchmarks, and market insights

• Collaborate with IBM experts across strategy, technology, and industry domains

• Participate in internal initiatives around thought leadership, new offerings, and practice development

• Learn how to translate emerging technologies — especially Agentic AI and automation — into business value

This job is only for candidates who will have finished their Bachelor studies by September 2026 (or earlier) and plan to start with a Master's Degree in autumn or in winter 2026 (Swiss university/university of applied sciences, study course of your choice).

This position will be based within the Hybrid Cloud & Data service line.

Required technical and professional expertise

• Enrollment in a Master’s program in business, economics, engineering, computer science, or a related field

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Curiosity for strategy, digital transformation, and AI-enabled innovation

• Ability to structure ideas clearly and communicate them well

• Basic familiarity or strong interest in AI, automation, or digital technologies

• Proactive mindset, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm for working in teams

• Fluent in German and English - at least C1 level (written and spoken)

• Swiss / EU nationality or a valid Swiss work permit
