The GE Healthcare Women's Health Ultrasound (WHUS) team is looking for a Signal Processing 3 months Intern responsible for creating a framework to analyze and visualize ultrasound signals, system configuration parameters and generating automated reports.

Job Description
Your Learning Goals:
Learning how to develop a framework to perform technical evaluations, with focus on simplicity, accessibility to a variety of users and maintainability.
Gaining hands-on experience and insights into the working principles of a high-end medical product. Learning about computation steps ranging from analog data acquisition to the final image display.
Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Work closely with the Engineering team
Identify the requirements for the data analysis framework
Add existing data analysis tools to the framework and/or implement new tools
Perform technical measurements and experiments on our ultrasound system
Your Qualifications
Required Qualifications
High School Degree/Diploma
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics/Electrical Engineering/Software Engineering/Medical Engineering or similar
Comfortable with Windows OS and software applications (e.g. PowerPoint, IDEs, etc.)
Basic experience with programming languages, preferably Python and/or MATLAB
Experience with manipulating measurement data and visualization
Fluent in English in written and spoken
Ability and desire to learn, understand & apply new concepts
Desired Qualification
Basic understanding of commonly used technical concepts and terms (e.g. digital and analog signals, signal frequency, filters, transmitters & receivers, ...)
Experience with setting up a new software project
Experience with creating GUIs

Ability to communicate and work in a team of engineers
Ability to independently work/investigate on challenging technical tasks
Ability to critically question results for plausibility
Maintaining interest in a challenging project over extended periods of time
Duration: 3 months
Internship compensation is determined in accordance with the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry and varies depending on the student’s grade level and assigned duties.
