Job Description:

Tracks and trends success of medical necessity edits, physician response rates, post-payment audits, and success of appeals. Drafts documents and provides project assistance on various tasks as required by the department. Manages coding and tracking of invoices, submits expense reports, and monitors contract usage and expenses. Represents the department on cross-functional teams and task forces within the hospital. Other duties as assigned. Performs administrative and clerical duties to support efficient and effective operations, handling multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment. Develops and delivers impactful PowerPoint presentations for leadership and revenue cycle meetings, utilizing graphs and pivot tables. Creates and disseminates various reports related to coding projects and presentations, requiring moderate to advanced Excel skills. Manages and maintains a coding SharePoint site for the coding team. Produces a monthly coding newsletter using input from coding leaders. Runs reports using hospital applications, and trains team members on these tools. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must have a comprehensive knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy; knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, and spreadsheet software. [Required]

• Must have the ability to plan, organize and direct the work of others. [Required]

• Must have the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form to patients, staff, physicians, and management staff. [Required]

• Must be knowledgeable with the National Research Council’s Recommended Dietary Allowances. [Required]

• Must be knowledgeable regarding national and state standards and regulations affecting RD practice. [Required]

• Must have demonstrated leadership and administrative experience through at least 6 months’ experience as a lead/supervisor. [Required]

• Read, write and speak English; handwriting must be legible [Required]

• Ability to apply Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Nutrition Care Process [Required]

• Mathematical capabilities essential to job duties [Required]

• Proficient in Microsoft Windows [Required]

• EQUIPMENT USED [Preferred]

• Must be able to use a telephone, calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer [Required]

• Proficiency in CBORD computerized foodservice program [Preferred]

Education:

• Bachelor's [Required]

• Master's [Preferred]

Field of Study:

• in dietetics, foods and nutrition or related area, such as business administration, health services administration, or public health, granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university.

• Completion of an academic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics

Work Experience:

• 3+ clinical experience [Required]

Pay Range:

$59,652.52 - $110,956.61
