Huth Technologies, LLC Senior Automation Engineer in Zelienople, Pennsylvania
Position Overview: This role is responsible for the development and implementation of advanced automation programs in industrial environments. The Automation Specialist will be involved in specification, programming, installation, and troubleshooting of control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design control system architecture, develop panel layout drawings, create instrument datasheets, and program I/O configurations. Configure and program HMI systems using widely adopted industrial automation platforms.
- Provide on-site support for system configuration, implementation, diagnostics, and both preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Conduct full I/O verification on PLC-connected equipment and resolve wiring, programming, or HMI-related issues efficiently.
- Create user procedures and deliver operator training sessions.
- Configure industrial networks using tools that support Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, and DeviceNet protocols to ensure effective communication between processors and HMIs.
- Act as a liaison and technical point of contact for end users and project stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- At least 8 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems programming.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs including platforms such as ControlLogix, PanelView HMI, Modicon, GE, and Siemens.
- Familiarity with DCS systems like Provox, DeltaV, Honeywell (TDC/PKS), and ABB.
- Experience in designing control panels, specifying and configuring I/O, and writing functional control specifications.
- Skilled in control room planning, module wiring, power distribution, and understanding of electrical area classifications.
- Proven experience in system commissioning and startup.
