Job Description
What You’ll Do
Program Leadership & Execution
Lead large-scale, cross-functional programs across database engineering teams
Drive end-to-end execution from roadmap definition through delivery and release
Break down complex initiatives into clear milestones, dependencies, and success criteria
Align engineering, product, and business stakeholders to deliver against strategic goals
Release Management & Quality
Oversee database release management across multiple distributions and environments
Ensure releases meet strict standards for stability, backward compatibility, performance, and security
Continuously improve release processes, tooling, and operational rigor
Roadmap, Planning & Delivery
Define and manage program roadmaps, timelines, and execution plans
Provide executive-level updates and cross-line-of-business communication
Ensure delivery within schedule, scope, and quality expectations
Risk & Issue Management
Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks
Manage scope changes and drive timely resolution of critical issues
Escalate effectively while maintaining forward momentum
Process, Tools & Operational Excellence
Build and evolve development processes, tooling, and program management frameworks
Identify systemic inefficiencies and implement scalable improvements
Maintain clear documentation and program transparency across stakeholders
Stakeholder Management & Communication
Communicate program status, risks, and decisions clearly to executives and stakeholders
Influence across organizations without direct authority
Act as a central point of coordination across globally distributed teams
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
10–12+ years of industry experience
4+ years of hands-on software development experience
4+ years of Technical Program Management experience
Proven experience delivering large-scale, enterprise technical programs across multiple release cycles
Strong understanding of databases and distributed systems
Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C)
Experience working across global, cross-functional teams
Core TPM Capabilities
Exceptional ability to translate broad strategy into executable plans
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and drive alignment
Comfortable operating in ambiguous, complex environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with large-scale database platforms or cloud infrastructure
Track record of improving development velocity, quality, and operational efficiency
