Job Description:

We operate seasonally, as cattle care needs change throughout the year. After weaning, calves are transported to a

feed yard and cows are shipped to a third-party farmer for grazing cornstalks with full care provided from December

through February, during which time no on-farm cattle care is required. Cattle care resumes only when animals are

physically present on the farm. From March through June, we confine approximately 800 mother cows for calving and

require additional labor to assist with birthing, provide supplemental feed, monitor health, and care for newborn calves.

After June, the herd returns to pasture, and work primarily consists of fence maintenance and moving cattle between

pastures throughout the grazing season, which typically ends in November. At that point, calves are weaned and sent

to a feed yard, and cows are again sent to a third party to winter on corn stalks. Although the cattle remain our

property, a third party provides winter care. Employees are required to assist with all assigned livestock duties while

cattle are on-site, including feeding and watering livestock; monitoring feed and water supplies; mixing feed, additives,

and medications; and transporting feed using trucks, tractors, or other equipment. Additional duties include examining

animals for illness, injury, or improper weight gain; administering vaccinations or arranging veterinary care; assisting

with breeding and calving; grooming, trimming, shearing, and other animal care tasks; applying disinfectants or

insecticides; herding livestock on foot, horseback, or ATV; moving livestock and equipment between locations; and

cleaning stalls, pens, and equipment. Employees will also inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, pens,

yards, fences, and buildings as required. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive

bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
