Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to organize, develop, and contribute in management of employee training programs across the organization. This role works closely with leadership, Safety, and Human Resources to ensure employees acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their roles safely, efficiently, and effectively. The ideal candidate will design programs that drive compliance, improve productivity, enhance total safety engagement, and support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Administration: Managing safety training databases, tracking employee certifications, and maintaining accurate compliance records for online platforms such as, but not limited to ISN, Avetta, and Veriforce.
Communication: Proficiency in translating regulatory requirements into "business-friendly" language for clear instructions for frontline workers.
Digital Proficiency: Competency with safety management software (EHS), data analytics platforms, and MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint) for reporting and presentations.
Instructional Delivery: Experience conducting training via various formats, including in-person seminars, and remote e-learning.
Manufacturing Focus: Best practices for safety protocol when handling cranes, mobile equipment, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and hazards.
Risk Management: Conducting regular site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
Soft Skills: Strong, engaging communication skills for training, leadership capabilities, and problem-solving skills for incident investigations.
Training Development: Designing, developing, and delivering tailored safety training programs (e.g., PPE usage, machine safety, hazard recognition).
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically for reporting and documentation.
Qualifications / Education
Education
Minimum of an Associate Degree in Business, Safety, Communications, or Education
Preferred Certifications
Certified Safety Trainer (CST), OSHA Safety Training Certifications, or related
Experience
3+ years of degree experience in manufacturing, construction or field services, and familiarity with OSHA standards
Or …
5 years of experience in safety, employee training, learning, and development.
Skills
Strong instructional design and curriculum development skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Familiar with safety equipment and training software
Knowledge of adult learning principles and training evaluation methods
