FLC Farm Worker in York Springs, Pennsylvania

REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be available the entire work period of 5/22/26-11/10/26. Must agree to 40 hr work week. Employer will provide transportation from employer provided living quarters to work site every day. Must read, and agree to, all terms and conditions of employment prior to a referral to the employer.

*SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: *Must have at least 3 months of verifiable experience in all job duties. This job requires exposure to extreme temperatures, ability to lift 60 lbs., repetitive movements, extensive walking, frequent stooping, extensive pushing and pulling, drug screen.

*JOB DUTIES: *Handling manual tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities. The employees will help plant new trees and installation of the support systems on the trees. In the midst of all of this, they will be doing general farm labor which consists of hand thinning fruit, picking rocks and other debris, mulching, pruning, cutting shoots and suckers, raking and cutting debris, inserting and removing tree spreaders, pulling and cutting thorny plants from around trees. Hand placement of rodent bait around trees. Operating and maintenance of tractors and other farm equipment. Cleaning and clearing fence rows and farm buildings. Irrigation ditching, shoveling, hoeing, hauling, ground preparation and other general farm related tasks. Employer expects workers to work with and without supervision. Workers are required to handle and pick up ladders up to and including 20 ft in length and weighing 35-60 pounds. Employees will then help with harvesting crop.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES:

BOARD ARRANGEMENTS: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers are able to prepare their own meals. The employer will provide transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries.

HOUSING: Employer-provided housing is available for all workers who live outside a reasonable daily driving distance.

TRANSPORTATION TO WORK SITE: The employer will provide transportation for all workers living in the employer-provided housing to and from the daily work site(s).

*WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE: *Provided.

TOOLS, SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT: Tools, supplies, and equipment needed to complete the job will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker.
