Aerotek Quality Testing Lab Technician in York, Pennsylvania

Test Lab Technician

Hands-on. High-impact. Essential to building safety.

We’re looking for a mechanically inclined, detail-driven Test Lab Technician to help evaluate and certify real-world building systems—windows, doors, walls, and roof assemblies—under fire, water, wind, and impact conditions. If you enjoy working with tools, following technical procedures, and turning test data into clear results, this role offers variety, responsibility, and growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Set up and perform standardized tests on building products (AAMA, ASTM, TAS).

  • Manage assigned jobs from start to finish using Oasis: scheduling, documentation, reporting, and closure.

  • Review contract requirements and document approved test deviations.

  • Analyze results and write clear, accurate test reports.

  • Communicate with clients before, during, and after testing.

  • Verify equipment calibration and maintain tools, inventory, and a clean lab.

  • Coordinate test schedules with equipment availability and other departments.

  • Support CAD modeling of mock-ups and test chambers (if assigned).

  • Progress from supervised testing to independent project ownership.

What You Bring

  • Strong mechanical aptitude; confident with hand and power tools.

  • Solid computer skills and comfort with technical documentation.

  • Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed test procedures.

  • High school diploma required; technical school a plus.

  • Forklift experience preferred (or willingness to learn).

Why You’ll Like It Here

  • 4 weeks PTO to start + 10 paid holidays

  • Comprehensive benefits: multiple medical plans, dental, vision, disability, legal assistance

  • Company-paid life insurance (with upgrade options)

  • 401(k) with employer match up to 6%

  • Stable, safety-focused environment with hands-on work and career development

Work Environment

You’ll work in a controlled test lab designed to simulate extreme conditions. The role blends physical testing with detailed computer-based reporting. PPE is required—safety gear is provided.

If you want a role where your work directly contributes to safer, better-performing buildings—and where no two test days are exactly the same—this could be a great fit.
