Palliative Care Physician

York, PA

Per Diem (0.001 FTE)

  • Daytime-only schedule: 7:30 AM-5:30 PM; Flexible PRN commitment: 4-6 shifts/month (minimum 2)

  • No call, no nights, no weekends, and no outpatient responsibilities

  • Focus on high-impact, patient-centered care

  • Care for seriously ill patients in ICU, oncology, and med-surg units

  • Emphasis on goals-of-care conversations and expert symptom management

  • Manageable volume: up to 4 new consults and 7 patient visits per day

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO; preference for 4+ years of hospice or palliative care experience

  • Strong inpatient experience

  • Passion for compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required or

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or

  • Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice or Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice or Internal Medicine. Upon Hire Required and

  • Hospice and Palliative Care Certification through the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or if a DO, through the Osteopathic Board process. Upon Hire Required and

  • Completion of a Family Practice or Internal Medicine residency. Upon Hire Required and

  • Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of the Hospital. Upon Hire Required and

  • Harvard Palliative Care Training. Upon Hire Required and

  • Proof of Added Competency in Palliative Care (e.g., Decisions Near the End of Life Faculty, EPEC faculty, CMEs related to Palliative Care/End of Life Care, other). Upon Hire Required

  • Minimum of 15 CME/1 year in Palliative Care. Upon Hire Required
