Job Summary
CarMart Automotive is seeking a Pennsylvania Certified Emissions and Safety Inspector to join our team ASAP. This position is for an experienced professional who is already certified in Pennsylvania and ready to work in a busy, well-established automotive shop.
Active PA Safety and Emissions certifications are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform PA State Safety and Emissions Inspections in compliance with PennDOT regulations
- Accurately complete all inspection documentation and electronic records
- Identify safety, emissions concerns, and clearly communicate findings
- Maintain inspection equipment and inspection bay standards
- Follow all state, federal, and shop safety procedures
- Work efficiently with mechanics and the owner
Required Qualifications
- Current Pennsylvania Safety Inspector Certification (Required)
- Current Pennsylvania Emissions Inspector Certification (Required)
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- High attention to detail and compliance
- Able to take direction effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an independent automotive repair shop
- Familiarity with PennDOT inspection systems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to perform basic mechanical repairs (plus, not required)
- Bilingual Spanish / English (plus, not required)
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive pay of $41,600 to start
- Consistent 40 hours per week, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Tuesday through Saturday
- Steady workflow in a busy, well-established shop
