BAE Systems Manufacturing Engineer 3rd Shift ACV Assembly/Test in York, Pennsylvania
Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer - 3rd Shift ACV Assembly/Test will support the assembly area of the Amphibious Combat Vehicle program on 3rd Shift. In this role, you will spend the majority of your time, up to 90%, on the shop floor resolving manufacturing related issues. You may interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement.
The Manufacturing Engineer - 3rd Shift ACV Assembly/Test:
Applies basic knowledge of the design and mechanical systems to solve manufacturing and engineering problems.
Develops and writes technical documentation, makes revisions to existing documentation, and provides input to technical papers or presentations. May deliver technical presentations.
Performs technical analysis, testing, calculations
Analyzes and interprets design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure that the product built conforms to technical design package specifications.
Applies basic lean/six sigma principals to drive improvements to production processes.
Interacts with employees located at multiple facilities across the country.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Welding, Manufacturing Engineering or related degree and 2 years experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
We will consider candidates with fewer years experience for a more junior position or additional experience for a more senior position
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Strong mechanical aptitude, ideally with a mechanical or manufacturing background
Good communication skills
Ability to effectively use a computer and learn new software programs
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years experience
Hands-on floor support experience, working with shop employees
Basic understanding of welding practices
Lean manufacturing experience
General knowledge of root cause / corrective action / preventive action#LI-Onsite #LI-JR1
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $72150 - $122655
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
