In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program. You will be supporting the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Business at our York, PA facility. This position will be onsite at our York facility for our Summer 2026 season (May-August). Relocation will not be offered, and housing is not provided. This position is expected to be Full Time (40 hours / week).
The Combat Vehicles line of business within the Platforms & Services (P&S) Sector of BAE Systems is looking for an intern who is pursuing an Industrial, Systems, or Process Engineering degree to support the assembly of armored military vehicles.
As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will:
Apply basic engineering design and/or analytical theory, principles, techniques, and practices to a limited portion of technical projects
Use Microsoft Access, Excel, Visio and Project to set up, organize and analyze technical information
Provide support to create and maintain standard work
Update plant drawings using AutoCAD
Support Continuous Improvement initiatives
Maintain a safe work environment and comply with safety policies and rules
Interact and communicate with Union personnel
Share responsibility for self-development with immediate supervisor
Work with full time Industrial Engineers and be required to utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to help improve production standards and KPIs
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Systems, Process or Mechanical Engineering or related field
Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week during the summer semester
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Juniors or Seniors Preferred
AutoCAD
Experience with time study software
Experience with MS Suite applications
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $40600 - $54800
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
