FARMERS COOPERATIVE Service Truck Technician - York, NE in York, Nebraska

A Day in the Life: As a Service Truck Technician you will repair and install tires on primarily farm and industrial equipment at our customers home locations. You will operate the service truck and will be on call for on-farm service and will assist in the vehicle service station when not completing service calls. You will repair, install, balance, mount, and rotate tires on any vehicle and will do tractor conversions on and off the farm. You will inspect, diagnose, and perform basic preventative maintenance including routine oil changes and/or transmission fluid and filters on all types of vehicles. Tires will be the bulk of your responsibility, and you will utilize technology such as the computerized wheel balancer, tire machine, alignment machine, auto lift, and ag tire machine at times. You will be cross trained in most positions at the service station and will be responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of your service truck. You will perform maintenance on tools and equipment and help perform housekeeping to keep the entire service station organized and clean. You will also help load and unload products for customers and may be asked to get certified in propane bottle fill.

Whats Expected: You will be expected to safely operate the service truck out on the road and be knowledgeable in tire maintenance, the products we offer, and the crane and hydraulic equipment on the truck. Quality customer service is expected as you will interact with customers on a regular basis both in the station and at their home operations. Depending on the facility, you may be asked to help other departments during peak demand times. You will be exposed to outdoor environments, lubricants, and various agricultural products. Physically, you will stand, stoop, bend, kneel, push, pull, pry, and crawl on a regular basis. You will be asked to climb ladders, roll tires, and regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally 100 pounds. You will be expected to think clearly, problem solve, work hard, and work more hours during busy seasons. Farmers Cooperative operates under the all hands-on deck philosophy when it comes to getting things done. Therefore, employees are required to perform all other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Whats Required: Valid Drivers License Busy seasons will require more hours to service our customers and you will be on call at times to assist with customer equipment breakdowns

Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working in the tire or auto mechanics industry Quality written and oral communication Quality customer service skills Basic technology skills Basic mathematical skills The desire to work for an agricultural cooperative
