Akima Production Control Clerk Yakima Training Center in Yakima, Washington

Akima is seeking an experienced Production Control Clerk to compile, record, and manage production data for the maintenance shop. This position compares records and reports on production volume, quality control, and other operational aspects to improve efficiency, decrease turnaround times, streamline workflows, and provide seamless customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Must be trained and obtain a certificate for completing the ERPS clerk function in GCSS-Army (AR 750-8 & AR 750-1).

  • Processes and tracks work orders within Government standards to meet contract requirements.Input, update, and export information in GCSS-Army or government-approved LIS.

  • Performs accurate data entry and reporting of vehicles and equipment assigned to the program 100% of the time.

  • Generates and maintains custom equipment tracking databases/spreadsheets.

  • Calculates work orders, parts used, and hours; enters data into computer programs.

  • Maintains historical records of maintenance in jackets and within GCSS-Army or other approved systems, including requests for disposition, classification, controlled exchange, and cannibalization documentation.

  • Compiles and maintains reports including Workload Status Reports, Maintenance Request Registers, and Equipment Density Reports.

  • Ensures all reports required by the PWS are accurate, thorough, and submitted on time; notifies management immediately if issues arise.

  • Provides logistical and administrative support to management; creates, updates, and delivers reports.

  • Sorts and distributes work orders or materials to workers.

  • Assists production control supervisor and mentors/cross-trains staff.

  • Supports and participates in the Company Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and QA Program.

  • Maintains files and records of documents used and prepared.

  • Ensures compliance with company rules, policies, SOPs, DOPs, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

  • Maintains positive interactions with internal and external customers.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Two (2) years of hands-on experience in production control, including administration and dispatching duties.

  • Knowledge of automated data systems and automated data system input.

  • Experience working in facilities maintenance and repair environments.

  • Experience in customer relations and maintaining accurate records/databases.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Must understand and be able to use technical manuals.

  • Field of expertise: supply and maintenance interaction.

  • Strong computer and office machine proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trained and certified in the ERPS clerk function in GCSS-Army (AR 750-8 & AR 750-1).Experience with GCSS-Army.

  • Training in Military Occupation CMF 92A Production Control MOS series or equivalent military/commercial experience.

Physical Requirements / Working Environment:

  • Work conditions are primarily standard office environments with minimal physical discomfort.
