Job Duties

POSITION SUMMARY

The Pump Assembler puts the water pump apparatus together by utilizing basic and specialty hand tools. The Pump Assembler manages the inventory of parts and coordinates the work schedule with the delivery of pieces. Also, the Pump Assembler will utilize basic and specialty hand tools to assemble all pieces of the water pump together.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  1. Assembles pump components together to make a working pump apparatus.

  2. Route plumbing through the truck and TIG weld plumbing together.

  3. Install generators in dunnage tubs.

  4. Fabricate brackets to hold plumbing and MIG weld them in place.

  5. Tests built pump to ensure that the apparatus meets all the specifications and quality requirements.

  6. Utilizes basic and specialty hand tools to assemble all pieces of the water pump together.

  7. Mounts pump onto the fire truck according to the specifications of the build.

  8. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

Tools to be utilized:

Hand tools, power tools, grinders, cut off wheels, band saw, shear, welders, and tape measure.

Minimum Education Required

• High school diploma/GED.

Minimum Experience Required

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

• High school diploma/GED.

• Previous welding experience required.

• Welding certificate preferred.

• 3+ years of previous MIG and TIG welding experience with aluminum and stainless steel preferred.

• Strong mechanical and technical ability required.

Skills:

Language:

• Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.

• Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.

• Able to follow written and verbal directions.

Math:

• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer:

• Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.

Abilities:

• Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.

• Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.

• Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.

• Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
