The Project Manager & Business Development Engineer for Specialty Printing Project serves as the central liaison between the BASF-site and the subcontractor executing specialized printing activities. This multifaceted role ensures the successful collaboration with the sub-contractor, supports operational and administrative processes, contributes to R&D efforts, and will consequently play a central role in moving the project to full production. Additionally, the role includes part-time responsibility for technical sales and optionally sales activities related to BASF Functional Printing products in North America.

Project Interface & Pilot-Plant Management
Act as the primary interface between the BASF site and subcontractors
Co-Lead the sub-contractors in project administration and operational execution
Monitor day-to-day activities and resolve site-related issues
Support stock management, material ordering, logistics coordination, and EHS compliance as well as accurate documentation
Take over Point of Contact (POC) role for Key Customers
Participate in research and development activities related to functional printing
Secure roll-to-roll functional printing expertise
Technical Sales & Business Development (Part-Time)
Technical activities for Functional Printing materials in North America
Engage with potential customers and provide technical support
Collaborate with internal teams to align product offerings with market needs
Take over the commercial sales role as an option
If you have...
Qualifications & Experience
Higher education (bachelor’s or master’s degree) in Printing Technology/Engineering, Chemical or Process Engineering, Chemistry or a related field
Several years of experience in a roll-to-roll printing environment, preferably gravure, or flexographic
Strong understanding of printing processes, materials, and equipment
Exposure to technical sales or customer-facing roles is a strong plus
Skills & Competencies
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic project environment
Location
Based at the BASF site in Wyandotte, MI.
Occasional travel within North America required
