Job Title: Press Brake Operator
Job Description
This role is ideal for an experienced Press Brake Operator who enjoys custom metal fabrication and working from precise specifications. You will set up and operate a press brake on a first-shift schedule to form sheet metal and plate parts to exact requirements. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, close attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
Select and install the correct tooling based on material type, thickness, and job requirements.
Interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and SolidWorks CAD-derived layouts to determine bending sequences and necessary machine adjustments.
Adjust machine settings and back gauges to achieve accurate bends and maintain tight tolerances.
Inspect completed parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to verify dimensional accuracy and quality.
Identify and correct nonconforming parts by adjusting machine parameters or setup as needed.
Perform routine equipment cleaning and basic maintenance to support consistent machine performance.
Assist with basic troubleshooting of press brake issues to minimize downtime.
Handle and position sheet metal and plate materials safely using appropriate tools and methods.
Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and schedule requirements.
Document production information as required, including part counts and quality checks.
Essential Skills
Proven experience operating a press brake in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Hands-on experience with press brake machine operation, including setup and running production jobs.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and SolidWorks-based CAD drawings.
Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure, micrometer, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail and quality.
Ability to work from technical specifications and follow detailed instructions.
Familiarity with fabrication tools and equipment used in metalworking.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with SolidWorks-generated drawings and layouts.
Experience using gauges and other precision inspection tools for in-process quality checks.
Basic troubleshooting skills for press brake equipment and tooling issues.
Experience operating forklifts or overhead cranes for material handling may be required for some roles.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production setting and meet deadlines.

Work Environment
This is a first-shift position working Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with 10-hour workdays. The setting is fast-paced and production-oriented, with regular use of fabrication tools, CNC machinery, and precision measuring instruments. Team members follow established safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment while working on the shop floor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wrightstown, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
