Job Description
City Market, Inc. is seeking a dependable and motivated Floor / Front End Service Manager to oversee front-end operations at our locally owned, family-operated grocery store in Wrangell, Alaska.
This position is responsible for ensuring a smooth, efficient, and positive customer experience while supporting and guiding front-end team members. The Front End Service Manager plays a key role in maintaining organization, strong communication, and a welcoming store environment.
The ideal candidate leads with respect, stays calm under pressure, and takes pride in both customer service and team support.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily front-end operations, including registers and customer flow
- Support, train, and guide cashiers and front-end team members
- Ensure excellent customer service and professionally handle customer concerns
- Maintain an organized, efficient, and clean front-end area
- Assist with scheduling, breaks, and shift coordination
- Monitor cash handling procedures and ensure accuracy
- Communicate effectively with store leadership and team members
- Step into a leadership role as needed to support overall store operations
Qualifications
- Previous retail or customer service experience required (supervisory experience preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities
- Calm, solution-oriented approach in fast-paced situations
- Dependable and able to take initiative
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist as needed on the floor
