Position Summary
The Senior DDI (DNS/DHCP/IPAM) Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of enterprise Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and IP Address Management (IPAM) infrastructure using Infoblox and related technologies. This role ensures the reliability, scalability, performance, and security of the organization’s DDI ecosystem across both on-premises and cloud environments.
The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for DDI platforms, providing technical leadership and driving service optimization and improvement initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to influence architecture decisions, establish and participate in operational best practices, and mentor junior engineers while supporting a dynamic, enterprise-scale environment.

Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage enterprise DNS, DHCP, and IPAM services leveraging Infoblox NIOS
Lead administration of DNS zones, DHCP scopes, and IP address space allocation across multiple environments
Implement DNS security controls including DNSSEC, RPZ, and other protective measures to ensure data integrity and prevent exploitation
Develop and maintain DHCP failover and redundancy strategies for high availability
Perform capacity planning and address management to support future network growth and re-architecture initiatives
Create and maintain advanced automation scripts (Python, PowerShell, REST/WAPI) for service provisioning, auditing, and reporting
Identify areas of opportunity, efficiency and growth of existing DDI infrastructure including integrating DDI systems with enterprise platforms, such as network monitoring (SolarWinds, Splunk) and ITSM tools (ServiceNow)
Monitor system performance, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to maintain service stability
Collaborate with network, security, and infrastructure teams to define standards, improve resilience, and align with compliance requirements
Maintain comprehensive system documentation, operational procedures, and disaster recovery runbooks
Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and training to DDI administrators and support staff
Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to identify and provide appropriate DDI solutions
Participate in an on-call rotation and support planned maintenance activities as needed
May require participation in after-hours maintenance windows and on-call rotation
This position may involve cross-functional support of regional or global network environments
Required Qualifications
7+ years of related experience administering and supporting DNS, DHCP, and IPAM infrastructure in an enterprise environment
Expert-level proficiency with Infoblox NIOS (Grid Manager, Reporting, and API integrations)
Strong understanding of core networking protocols (TCP/IP, routing, subnetting, VLANs) and DDI dependencies
Demonstrated experience in DNS/DHCP high availability, failover, and IPv4/IPv6 address planning
Proven ability to write scripts for automation and operational efficiency (Python, PowerShell, REST/WAPI)
Solid understanding of network security concepts and best practices for DDI environments
Experience supporting hybrid or multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications such as Infoblox Core DDI, CCNP, or equivalent
Experience integrating DDI systems with ServiceNow, network automation frameworks, or NAC platforms (e.g., Cisco ISE)
Familiarity with network observability tools such as Grafana, Nagios, or SolarWinds
Experience developing or supporting CI/CD pipelines for network automation
Knowledge of IPv6 implementation strategies and dual-stack environments
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Highschool diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience)

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$92,700.00 - $203,940.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
