Saint-Gobain Shipping Receiving Coordinator in WORCESTER, Massachusetts
The Shipping/Receiving Coordinator is responsible for all material movement into and out of the company, including receiving, distributing, storing, labeling, shipping, and preparing the required documentation. This role completes all system transactions for incoming and outgoing materials and maintains accurate records in accordance with company retention policies. The position also handles the loading and unloading of raw materials, finished goods, and manufacturing supplies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Materials & Products
Process incoming materials for storage.
Use packaging equipment such as shrink wrappers, palletizers, and labeling systems to prepare items for domestic and international shipment.
Manage receipt, storage, and transport of recyclable materials.
Equipment
Use automated systems and QAD to process all receiving and shipping transactions, ensuring inventory accuracy.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, high‑rise lifts, and other material‑handling equipment in confined warehouse spaces.
Utilize computerized systems for inventory control, logistics reporting, packing slips, and bills of lading.
Procedures
Unload incoming trucks, inspect goods against packing slips, and stage materials for processing.
Enter receipts into QAD, maintain accurate files, and communicate discrepancies to purchasing.
Store materials in appropriate barcode aligned locations and support inventory needs based on demand.
Manage recycling activities including storage, inventory, and transport.
Maintain accurate records of all receipts and reconcile issues with purchasing and materials teams.
Complete required HazMat and DOT training annually.
Operate conveyors and warehouse equipment to move, pack, or repack materials as needed.

Logistics & Documentation
Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) and familiar with business management software/databases.
Working knowledge of Incoterms, importing, exporting, and international trade practices to protect financial interests and ensure proper title transfer.
Organize inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments, including document preparation and coordination with freight forwarders.
Work with domestic and international freight brokers to provide timely and accurate freight quotes when needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING TIME
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent experience.
Fork truck operating license also required.
This position requires 1+ years of manufacturing work experience to become proficient in all phases of the job to work independently.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Complexity
Accurately identifies the typical incoming or outgoing materials, products, chemicals, and supplies to verify against the documents that accompany the materials and contents of all incoming shipments. Takes count, checks for damages, makes entries into systems for record keeping purposes.
Verifies against the packing slip that the correct products are being shipped to the right customers in containers with proper cushioning or protection.
Requires knowledge of the overall warehousing plan to efficiently place or to retrieve materials to maintain inventory integrity, documentation requirements, and accepted warehousing methods, procedures, and techniques.

Physical Demands/Efforts
The Shipping/Receiving Coordinator must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to site, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.
Mental & Visual Demands
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus while reading bills of lading, bar codes and computerized reports.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, job folders and memos required.
Performs basic math calculations, by hand and by computer, to include conversions, weight measurements, volume and distance. Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job within the manufacturing environment, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
The employee is occasionally exposed to heat, fumes, or airborne dust.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.--Various PPE devices & equipment such as gloves, safety shoes, dust masks, hearing protection, and glasses may be required.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the local pay range for this position, which is $25.20 to $30.80 per hour. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range is $57,600 to $70,400. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
