Kelly Services Quality Assurance Supervisor (Food Manufacturing) in Worcester, Massachusetts

Kelly Science is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for a growing food manufacturing client located in Worcester, MA.

Salary: $65,000-92,000/year depending on experience

Shift: Monday-Friday 1st shift

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor QA Technicians, managing daily training, performance goals, and reviews.

  • Coordinate scheduling and work assignments for the Quality Assurance department.

  • Serve as a technical liaison for internal teams and external vendors in the absence of the QA Manager.

  • Oversee food safety and quality programs, ensuring compliance with sanitation, environmental, and corrective action policies.

  • Manage certifications (e.g., Organic, Non-GMO, Kosher) and facilitate regulatory inspections and customer audits.

  • Lead internal audits and mock recalls to ensure compliance with local regulations and internal policies.

  • Direct inspections of incoming ingredients and packaging to ensure they meet fat, moisture, and physical specifications.

  • Manage non-conforming materials, including holds, investigations, and final dispositions.

  • Investigate quality complaints and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.

  • Verify labeling accuracy and packaging proofing during the manufacturing process.

  • Support new product development and commercialization efforts.

  • Monitor workplace safety, conducting hazard inspections and leading accident investigations.

  • Maintain expertise in SQF, GMP, HACCP, and safety protocols through ongoing training.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific related field preferably food science related highly desirable. High School Diploma required.

  • 3+ years of quality experience in the food manufacturing industry with proven knowledge and experience with food safety programs and systems including SQF, HACCP, FSMA, and GMP.

  • 1+ year of supervisory experience required.

  • HACCP and PCQI certified strongly preferred.

  • Previous knowledge and experience in microbiology and sanitation preferred.
