Hiring for a Project Manager Mechanical/Heavy Industrial in Worcester
Job Description
The Project Manager Mechanical/Heavy Industrial is responsible for leading assigned construction projects, partnering with field operations, and providing technical support to ensure safe, on-schedule, and profitable project completion.
Responsibilities
Adhere to and promote all Company Safety Policies and the Company Code of Conduct.
Plan, organize and staff key field positions through regional department heads to achieve the best allocation of resources within a defined budget to meet project expectations.
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards according to the Pre-Planning Process outlined in the company Policy.
Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and NE contacts to facilitate construction activities.
Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
Represent company in project meetings; assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings.
Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company's interest and maintain a good relationship with the client.
Support all company reporting functions such as weekly reports, timecards, annual reviews.
Protect company from improper 'At-Risk' activities, especially monitoring adherence to all safety procedures.
Manage both Design Build and Bid Build projects, including managing the design process for the Design/Build process.
Collaborate with Superintendents, on-site crews, and subcontractors to drive safe, timely, and high-quality project completion.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of progressive construction management leadership experience with responsibility on projects $7.5MM+.
Expertise in construction methodologies, design principles, and financial management.
Knowledge of structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and building systems.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients, subcontractors, and consultants.
Experience with RFI, Submittals, Change Orders, and Purchasing.
Proficiency in Critical Path Scheduling using MS Project, P6, or comparable scheduling software.
Procore proficiency.
OSHA 30 certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Self-performing background.
Basic usage of Bluebeam—Adobe Products.
Experience with COINS—ERP system used for purchasing.
Work Environment
The position is based in an office setting either in East Hartford or Worcester with project on-site visits once a week. There is an option for hybrid flexibility after 90 days of employment. Project sites can be located in CT, Central MA, Western MA, and outside the Boston Area. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Worcester, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $64.90 - $72.12/hr.
