The Director of Operations & Commercial Development (DOC) at HDmedical is a senior, hands on leadership role responsible for keeping the company operationally sound, compliant, and commercially positioned as it scales. This role functions as a founder level execution partner, translating strategy into action across operations, manufacturing, quality systems, administration, and revenue supporting initiatives. Key Responsibilities Operational Management Lead day to day operational execution across manufacturing, research, administration, and commercial support functions to ensure efficiency, quality, and readiness to scale. Own operational planning and infrastructure, including resource allocation, vendor management, and process development to support both near term execution and long term growth. Oversee quality, safety, and regulatory compliance, maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), supporting audits and regulatory readiness, driving continuous improvement, and partnering with the CTO and external experts to ensure adherence to applicable standards and guidance. Financial & Administrative Stewardship Support budgeting, cost controls, and operational tracking to optimize capital efficiency. Oversee day to day administrative operations, including Payroll, Accounts Payable and Receivable (Quickbooks); Support leadership and Accountant with financial tasks as needed. Prepare internal and external reports to support decision making, planning, and stakeholder communication. Commercial Strategy & Revenue Enablement Support commercial strategy and revenue generation by partnering with sales and marketing on strategic accounts, participating in conferences and customer engagements, and contributing to pricing models, proposals, licensing opportunities, and partnership development. Monitor and assess external market and policy dynamics-including government affairs, reimbursement frameworks, and regulatory or legislative developments-to inform commercial strategy and guide opportunity prioritization and execution. Founder & Executive Support Act as a trusted advisor and execution partner to the CEO and CTO, helping prioritize initiatives and resolve issues proactively. Lead special projects and cross functional initiatives directly overseen by the leadership. Prepare leadership for high impact engagements and, when appropriate, represent the company as a stand in. Develop clear narratives, materials, and operational insights for internal and external communications. Governance, Team & Culture Support the founder and board in governance matters, ensuring compliance with fiduciary responsibilities, ethical standards, and transparency. Help foster a performance driven, collaborative culture grounded in accountability and continuous learning. Contribute to talent development, onboarding, and organizational best practices as the company grows. Qualifications & Experience Required Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred (MBA, engineering, life sciences, finance, or related field). 5+ years of experience in a hands on management, business operations, or strategy role, with at least 1 year in a Manager or Director level position. Experience in healthtech or medical device startups is required. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast moving, resource constrained environments. Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Experience supporting medical device commercialization, clinical development, or regulated manufacturing environments. Familiarity with clinical workflows, patient safety, or healthcare delivery systems. Entrepreneurial or early stage company experience. Financial operations exposure (QuickBooks or similar). Medical or clinical background a plus.
