Does developing strategies and products for every season sound exciting to you ? We have a dynamic opportunity for a Category Manager – Seasonal - Lead Director within our General Merchandising team.
In this role, you will own the Seasonal category strategy and P&L, driving growth through innovative merchandising strategies and delivering compelling assortments that delight customers. You will lead a high-performing team, manage vendor partnerships, and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve sales, margin, and market share goals. Your work will directly impact how millions of customers experience seasonal products in-store and online, making CVS a destination for trusted value and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Own category P&L and deliver sales and margin goals through strategic planning and execution.
Develop and implement end-to-end merchandising strategies, including assortment planning, pricing, promotions, and loyalty programs.
Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering engagement, growth, and accountability.
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and terms to maximize profitability and ensure competitive assortments.
Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive data to inform category strategy and identify growth opportunities.
Partner with cross-functional teams (Inventory, Pricing, Finance, Store Brands, Marketing, Store Operations) to execute promotional strategies and marketing plans.
Drive innovation and speed-to-market for new products and seasonal initiatives while balancing financial risk.
Ensure seamless execution across omni-channel platforms, creating cohesive experiences for customers in-store and online.
Contribute to broader General Merchandise initiatives and strategic projects.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in Retail Category Management, Merchandising, CPG, Private Equity, Investment Banking, or Management Consulting.
Proven ability to lead complex initiatives and drive category growth through innovative strategies.
Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging data for assortment optimization, pricing strategies, and performance forecasting.
Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
Skilled in vendor negotiations and structuring win-win agreements to maximize profitability.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with strong executive presence.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience managing and developing direct reports.
Ability to travel up to 20%.
Preferred Qualifications:
Omni-channel merchandising experience.
Expertise in high-stakes negotiations.
MBA preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
