Ohio Valley Educational Service Center School Psychologist in Woodsfield, Ohio
Switzerland of Ohio Local School District is looking to hire a Part Time School Psychologist.
*QUALIFICATIONS: *
- Certification: Valid Ohio Teaching License
- Education: Minimum of Master's with a specialization in School Psychology (Ed.S)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep current on educational issues and psychological practices
- Provide the intensive psycho-educational evaluation of individual children identified or suspected of having a disability.
- Lead the development of functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans to assist teachers in improving student behaviors within the classroom.
- Contribute to the written report of the evaluation team and interpret the results of the psycho-educational evaluation for consideration in the development of the IEP for each child identified as a student with a disability.
- Prepare and submit a written report specifying findings of the psycho-educational assessment.
- Consult with teachers, parents, and other educational personnel on matters relating to the education and/or mental health of children with disabilities to insure the provision of the appropriate education program.
- Counsel individually and in groups with students with disabilities and/or their families.
- Serve as consultant to the schools in the development of educational evaluation, pupil and personnel policies, in-service activities, curriculum, and staff development.
- Assist educational staff in implementing or modifying instructional strategies, classroom management procedures, and intervention strategies within the classroom.
- Provide leadership from the field of school psychology regarding best practices in developing the multi-level system of supports within the district.
- Provide screening programs, mental health activities, and referral to and consultation with outside service agencies.
- Adhere to a typical weekly schedule.
- Work both individually and as a team member with other OVESC personnel and personnel of the assigned district.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills

- Reports suspected child abuse and/or neglect to authorities as required by law.
- Promotes a positive image of the OVESC and school districts.
- Maintains an acceptable attendance record and is punctual.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Such other duties as assigned by the OVESC Superintendent, or his/her designee
