Senior Manager, Accounting & Finance, Woodland Park, NJSummaryMaxell Corporation of America is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Accounting & Finance to join our Accounting Team in Woodland Park, NJ. This role will play a critical role in managing the financial close process, overseeing daily accounting operations, and supporting financial reporting to senior management and our Japan-based parent company. This position is based on-site in our Woodland Park, NJ office.Key Responsibilities•Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close process, ensuring all costs are accurately recorded.•Review and approve journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and maintain the general ledger.•Partner closely with the Vice President, Accounting & Finance to prepare financial reports, forecasts, and analyses for Senior Management and the Japan-based parent company.•Respond to inquiries and reporting requests from the parent company.•Supervise and support the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and reconciliations.•Ensure departmental deadlines and compliance requirements are consistently met.•Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations for accounting staff.•Generate financial and business reports for management review.•Prepare and process sales tax reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements.•Assist with annual budget preparation and forecasting activities.•Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations and reporting.•Serve as a primary liaison with internal and external auditors.•Participate in special projects as assigned.Qualifications•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field •Minimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including management or supervisory experience a must.•Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial close processes, and financial reporting•Experience working with Japan-based parent companies. Bilingual proficiency in Japanese a plus. •Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing accounting staff.•Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.•Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel, Word & Power Point.
