Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk accurately pulls orders, prepares packages for shipment, and supports warehouse operations by safely moving, wrapping, and staging products for loading. This role uses paper shipping orders, computer systems, and RF scan guns to process incoming and outgoing materials while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret paper shipping orders to determine the correct products and quantities required.

  • Locate pallets with the correct product in the warehouse and move them to the appropriate shipping dock.

  • Properly wrap, secure, and stage pallets at the correct loading dock for shipment.

  • Use computer systems to process shipping and receiving transactions accurately.

  • Operate RF scan guns to scan, track, and verify inventory and order details.

  • Receive incoming orders and perform spot checks on bills of materials (BOM) and incoming materials for accuracy and quality.

  • Prepare outgoing orders for shipment, ensuring correct labeling, packaging, and documentation.

  • Work closely with the manufacturing team to assist with crating and preparing items for shipment.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the warehouse.

  • Follow all safety procedures when handling materials and operating equipment, including forklifts when trained and authorized.

  • Support general warehouse tasks as needed to meet operational goals.

Essential Skills

  • Previous shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse or industrial environment.

  • Ability to safely lift and move items up to 60 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Experience operating a forklift or strong interest in learning to operate a forklift for long-term responsibilities.

  • Ability to use RF scan guns for scanning and tracking inventory.

  • Basic computer skills to process shipping and receiving transactions.

  • Strong attention to detail when reading shipping orders and verifying materials.

  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, including paper shipping orders and bills of materials.

  • Reliability and consistency in completing tasks in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with general warehouse operations, including order pulling and staging.

  • Comfort working with manufacturing teams to support crating and shipment preparation.

  • Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities over time, including increased forklift operation.

  • No formal education requirements.

  • No certifications required.

  • No medical monitoring requirements.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WOODBURN, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
