FLC Agricultural Equipment Operator in Wixom, Michigan

REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be available the entire work period of 3/9/26-11/20/26. Must agree to 45 hr work week. Employer will provide transportation from employer provided living quarters to work site every day. *SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: *Must have at least 3 months of verifiable experience in all job duties. This job requires exposure to extreme temperatures, ability to lift 50 lbs., repetitive movements, extensive walking, frequent stooping, extensive pushing and pulling, drug screen.
*JOB DUTIES: *Handling manual tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities. AG EQUIPMENT OPERATOR: Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: general care and maintenance of tress/shrubs/nursery plants, greenhouses, and buildings; participate in irrigation activities; perform general maintenance and clean up on the property; operate farm machinery such as forklifts, tractors, mowers, and trucks for soil preparation, hauling trees/shrubs/nursery plants; prepare soil for planting using tillage equipment such as cultivators to remove unwanted weeds and hand picking rocks while walking through soft soils; help prepare farm equipment for field work; perform routine general repairs and maintenance of equipment, including check equipment fluids, change existing engine oil, grease equipment, inspect equipment and inform supervisor of any necessary repairs, and help check battery life, air filters, tire pressure, and other parts of equipment; drive Employer-provided vehicle to and from the worksite and to locations within 30 miles; drive tractor to and from fields while pulling different attachments; operate or assist with trailer/tanker loading and unloading; operate equipment tractor to haul trees/shrubs/nursery plants from the field to the farm; if authorized, worker may be required to operate different types of semi-trucks and trailers that are used during hauling trees/shrubs/nursery plants; maintenance duties including mowing grass, picking up garbage around the nursery, and cleaning machinery and buildings; complete daily safety inspections and general maintenance on tractors, vehicles, equipment and buildings; use basic maintenance tools such as a power washer, shovel, and other hand tools. If worker is eligible to drive under Michigan law, Employer may require worker to drive in Employer-provided vehicle to and from the worksite and to other locations. Pay will be hourly. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES:
BOARD ARRANGEMENTS: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers are able to prepare their own meals. The employer will provide transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries.
HOUSING: Employer-provided housing is available for all workers who live outside a reasonable daily driving distance.
TRANSPORTATION TO WORK SITE: The employer will provide transportation for all workers living in the employer-provided housing to and from the daily work site(s).
*WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE: *Provided.
TOOLS, SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT: Tools, supplies, and equipment needed to complete the job will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker.
