KITCHEN MANAGER (SOUS CHEF LEVEL)

TRE RIVALI – KIMPTON JOURNEYMAN HOTEL

SUMMARY:

Tre Rivali is a Mediterranean restaurant with a growing emphasis on Levantine flavors and live-fire cooking. This role is a hands-on leadership position focused on driving daily kitchen operations, with primary responsibility for dinner service.

Working closely with the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef, this position leads service, supports the team, and helps maintain a high standard of food quality and execution. Senior leadership manages the broader administrative and operational responsibilities, allowing this role to stay focused on the kitchen, the food, and the team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead dinner service in Tre Rivali, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely execution

  • Supervise and support kitchen staff during service and prep

  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and standards across all kitchen areas

  • Assist in training, coaching, and developing team members

  • Support menu execution and ongoing refinement of dishes

  • Communicate clearly with front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service

  • Assist in maintaining proper prep levels, station readiness, and overall flow of the kitchen

  • Support overall kitchen organization, ordering, and systems as needed

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:

  • $29/hour

  • Consistent schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 2pm–10pm

  • Full-time benefits

  • Access to IHG hotel discounts (local and international rates)

Schedule is largely consistent, with some flexibility around business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong culinary fundamentals and solid scratch kitchen experience

  • Previous leadership experience in a high-volume or quality-focused kitchen preferred

  • Ability to lead a shift, manage priorities, and maintain standards under pressure

  • Interest in or willingness to learn Levantine and Mediterranean cuisine

  • Organized, reliable, and consistent in execution

  • Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with a team

WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR:

This role is well-suited for someone continuing to build toward senior kitchen leadership, or someone looking for a position that offers responsibility and growth without taking on the full scope of an Executive Chef role.

The environment is structured, focused, and built around continuous improvement—both in the food and in the team.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Involvement in menu development and refinement

  • Direct access to experienced culinary leadership

  • Opportunity for growth within the Kimpton / IHG system
