Schedule: FT, 36 hours per week, Three 12 hour shifts per week, days of the week vary, Sun- Sat.
Shift: Nights, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am (with weekend rotation)

Unit Highlights:
Advent Health Winter Park Labor and Delivery Unit is a premier destination for obstetrical care. We provide individualized care for generations in a boutique style environment.
The Labor and Delivery Unit provides Level II Maternity Care for approximately 3,500+ births per year, and consists of 4 OB Triage rooms, 10 labor rooms, 3 OB ORs and 4 PACU beds. The adjacent units are a 12 bed Level II NICU and a 34 bed Mother Baby Unit.
The multidisciplinary OB team is supported 24/7 by on unit OB Hospitalists, Neonatologists/Pediatric Hospitalists and Anesthesiology.
Advent Health for Women is a key part of the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative’s PROVIDE initiative (reducing primary c-sections) and MORE (reducing maternal opioids). Our team is able to provide virtual classes and tours with our patients and individualized care with our Birth Experience team.
Other highlights include Professional Excellence Programs, Perinatal Nurse Internship Programs and our Multidisciplinary Obstetrical Simulation Training

The role you’ll contribute:
- Assist with newborn care at deliveries, providing immediate care and support to newborns during and after delivery. * Maintain skills in neonatal resuscitation to respond effectively in emergencies. * Demonstrate assessment skills in high and low-risk obstetrical patients to identify potential risks and health issues. * Identify and report maternal and newborn problems to the physician promptly. * Assist with the transfer of newborns to other facilities when indicated, ensuring safe and efficient transfers. * Accurately identify and band newborns, mothers, and significant others to prevent mix-ups. * Document all care activities accurately, including band identification numbers in medical records. * Provide care during obstetrical surgical procedures, assisting in the Labor & Delivery Operating Suite. * Perform intraoperative and post-anesthesia care according to established standards. * Conduct steam sterilization processing for instruments and supplies, ensuring all sterilization parameters are met. * Provide emotional support for grieving parents, offering compassionate support and connecting them with appropriate support groups. * Educate and support families about newborn care, health conditions, and post-discharge care.
Education:
• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience:
• 1+ acute nursing experience [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) [Required]
• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Neonatal Med Certification (NEONATAL MED) [Preferred]
