Job Description:
Supports acquisition and sourcing of materials and resources required for the company for direct and/or indirect material including assisting with contracts (LTA) and order creation.
Role Overview:
This position procures materials for build and test requirements as needed to support operations and engineering initiatives. This is a Rapid Response position in our Engineering Development Lab (EDL) that requires quick turn-around of material requirements to support seat builds resulting from original design and redesign efforts. Requires a solid, skilled procurement professional that is able to adapt to an intense environment, be able to source needed materials proficiently and effectively, while supporting leadership with process improvement projects and plans in the future.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage all procurement activities of SOW’s assigned, plus help support leadership process improvement initiatives.
• Create and establish all purchase orders.
• Accomplish personal monthly vendor on time delivery targets.
• Manage Ariba system requirements as needed.
• Contribute to team and operational meetings to communicate and advise of risks and opportunities to situations that arise.
• Complete any necessary training programs as required and other company sponsored requirements.
• Update EDL SOW Share point Dashboard continually with new information and maintenance of all SOWs.
• Conduct competitive supplier bids and provide risk assessment of best supplier sources for the SOW assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
This position prefers a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant purchasing experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline. In the absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required. Recommend a solid, versatile thinker, whom works with a sense of urgency. Strong ability to manage unreasonable demands through managing multiple priorities to maximize lead time, costs, service and quality. A resilient, tough minded individual that thrives on challenges. Preferred experience with leading or supporting projects, kaizen and other continuous improvement project initiatives.
