Job Description Summary
Waters Biosciences is seeking a Clinical Implementation Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of regulated clinical flow cytometry solutions across the UK and Ireland. This role ensures complex diagnostic implementations are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with clinical and accreditation requirements, directly supporting laboratories that provide patient-critical diagnostic services.
You will take ownership of complex, multi-site implementations spanning instruments, automation, software, assays, informatics, and workflow integration. Working across NHS laboratories, private pathology networks, and HSE clinical services in Ireland, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams and guide customers through implementation, validation, and operational adoption. Regular travel across the UK and Ireland is required, with occasional travel within Europe. Candidates may be based anywhere in the UK, provided they are well positioned for travel (up to 20% of their time); depending on location, overnight stays should be expected. This is a fixed‑term role for 12 months.

These systems support critical diagnostic pathways including leukaemia/lymphoma phenotyping, CD4 monitoring, transplantation immune monitoring, stem cell enumeration, MRD testing, and immunodeficiency workups. Implementations frequently include LIS integration, network security reviews, training, validation support, and change management across multi‑site service models.
Main responsibilities will include:
Leading end-to-end clinical implementation projects from initiation through installation, validation, go-live, and handover
Coordinating cross-functional teams across applications, informatics, service, commercial, and quality functions
Managing complex deployments including instrument installation, automation, software integration, assay migration, and workflow redesign
Developing detailed project plans, timelines, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery
Overseeing technical readiness activities including site preparation, infrastructure requirements, and LIS integration
Building strong relationships with clinical teams, laboratory leadership, and technical partners throughout project delivery
Supporting laboratory teams through change management, training coordination, and operational readiness
Contributing to continuous improvement by sharing implementation insights and strengthening delivery methodologies
About you:
Master’s degree in a scientific, biomedical, engineering, or technical discipline
Experience managing customer-facing projects, ideally within clinical diagnostics or regulated environments
Understanding of diagnostic laboratory workflows, particularly within flow cytometry, haematology, or immunology
Ability to translate clinical and operational requirements into structured project plans and deliverables
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex implementations

For this position, the expected base salary ranges from £50,000 to £60,000 per annum. This reflects a more accurate range than the broader salary band indicated at the end of the job advertisement. The role also includes additional benefits, including an annual bonus.
