POSITION: Seasonal Labor\ DEPARTMENT: Parks and Public Lands, Underground Utilities, Refuse, or other varying departments\ REPORTS TO: Assigned Supervisor\ PAY GRADE: 07-08 Hourly\ \ PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION\ Under general supervision performs work to maintain grounds around various City parks, golf course, cemetery, horticulture, or Utility facilities.\ \ ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Mowing, trimming, spraying, and weed-eating
- Moving trash cans and emptying trash
- General Maintenance of Facilities as needed
- Cleaning Restrooms
\ SUPERVISION-RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS: None\ \ EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:\ Must be minimum 16 years of age, high school graduation or GED, current drivers license, and experience in operation of tractors, riding mowers, and weed eaters.\ \ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to perform physical work including lifting and carrying 25-50 pounds regularly, and up to 75-100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to make minor repairs to tractors, mowers, weed eaters, and spraying equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit climb, bend, crawl, kneel, twist, push, pull, reach, grasp, and perform similar body movements;
- Possesses hand/eye/foot coordination adequate to operate Grounds maintenance equipment
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, including but not limited to, rain, extreme heat, and wind
- Ability to follow oral instructions
- Participate in City safety program
