Hub International Quality Assurance Analyst, Web Applications (18-month Contract) in Windsor, Ontario
The Role: We are seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our Web Applications team. This is a Full-Time 18-month contract position.
Location: Windsor, ON. We offer full time in-office and hybrid flexibility.

Position Overview:
The Web Applications team is primarily responsible for the planning, development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of customer-facing web applications that allow our visitors to quote, purchase and modify their insurance policies online.
As a Quality Assurance Analyst on the team, you’ll improve the reliability, performance, and stability of the applications within our portfolio through manual testing, regression testing, and the identification of application defects to be remedied by application developers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and conduct manual testing for applications following industry and team best practices
Plan and conduct regression testing to ensure that unintended changes are not introduced
Collaborate with team members to plan, document, estimate and execute projects
Stay up to date with industry best practices and new technologies and tools
Research, propose and implement improvements to products and workflows
Automate tasks and build tools to increase efficiency
Identify & help mitigate project risks (security, technical, and otherwise)
Learn and understand the needs of our customers and the business and design solutions that positively impact both
Prioritizes available tasks and personal workload to meet the team's goals and respond to emergency situations effectively
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary diploma/degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience manually testing software/web applications
Experience writing and executing comprehensive test plans which validate both technical and business requirements
Desire and ability to learn new methodologies and skills
Self-sufficient and able to work autonomously
Collaborative and able to work on a team
Strong problem solving and analysis skills
High attention to detail
USEFUL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Git
CI/CD platforms (CircleCI, Travis CI, Jenkins, etc.)
Building and working with REST APIs
Logging and monitoring platforms (Sentry, Datadog, NewRelic, etc.)
Task and project management via Jira and Asana
Workplace messaging via Slack and Teams
Experience building frontend and backend systems using common frameworks
We use Django and React
Familiarity with some of the supporting technology we use:
AWS and Linux environments
Docker and Kubernetes
PostgreSQL or MySQL
Redis and Memcached
Celery Task Queue or RabbitMQ
Strong dynamic programming language skills
We use Python and JavaScript
Experience testing web applications with automation tools
We use Pytest and Selenium; Robot and Casper are good too
Insurance/financial industry

Salary Expectations:
The expected salary range for this position is $55,000 - $68,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
