We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the execution of complex engineering programs by managing scope, cost, schedule, and risk to ensure successful delivery. This role requires a collaborative leader who can effectively partner with systems and design engineers, program and project management teams, component suppliers, and customers to drive results. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is skilled at coordinating across multiple stakeholders while guiding the engineering design process. This position supports the development and integration of advanced electrical and mechanical systems for military and commercial engine programs and is best suited for someone who demonstrates strong ownership, technical leadership, and the ability to translate engineering efforts into successful program outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • Manage the design and integration of complex assemblies in accordance with the product development process.

  • Provide design oversight for specifications, drawings, and test plans.

  • Perform system and component requirements reviews and compliance assessments.

  • Develop and manage project risk and mitigation plans.

  • Develop and deliver detailed presentations for product design reviews.

  • Support product verification, certification, and production implementation.

  • Conduct Relentless Root Cause and Corrective Action (RRCCA) investigations for field and production engine test component removals.

  • Coordinate Class I and Class II engineering changes through Configuration Control Board processes.

  • Coordinate efforts with Category 1 suppliers to execute engineering tasks required to support program and customer milestones and objectives.

  • Develop and present project status updates and closure plans to engineering and program leadership.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

  • Prior experience managing multiple projects or priorities simultaneously while meeting challenging schedules and delivering within budget.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience delivering project milestones by coordinating team activities, tracking progress against schedules, and resolving technical or schedule-related issues.

  • Experience developing and maintaining project plans, including defining scope, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Experience working in a matrixed environment with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project, for project scheduling, tracking, and reporting.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating project activities across functions without direct reporting authority.

  • Experience managing external suppliers or vendors, including coordination of deliverables and schedules.

  • Experience creating and maintaining project schedules and status reports using Microsoft Project or similar project management tools.

  • Experience communicating project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and leadership through presentations or written reports.

  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements or risk mitigation actions within project execution.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
