Robert Half Divisional/Plant Controller in Windsor, Connecticut

Description

We are looking for a skilled Divisional/Plant Controller to support a manufacturing operation in the Greater Hartford area. This role will oversee core accounting activities, strengthen financial accuracy, and provide hands-on support for closing cycles, reconciliations, budgeting, and inventory-related analysis. The ideal candidate brings strong controllership experience and the ability to improve financial organization within a plant or division-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the month-end close process and ensure financial results are completed accurately and on schedule.

• Prepare and review account reconciliations to resolve discrepancies and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.

• Organize and improve accounting records by addressing outstanding cleanup items and strengthening financial controls.

• Support budget planning activities, including the development and monitoring of operating forecasts and spending assumptions.

• Partner with manufacturing leadership to provide financial insight tied to plant performance and cost management.

• Perform inventory-related accounting work, including valuation analysis, reconciliations, and review of stock movements.

• Produce timely financial reports that help leadership evaluate operational and business performance.

• Contribute hands-on controllership support across daily accounting functions and period-end reporting requirements.

Requirements • Experience leading month-end close activities in a manufacturing or plant-based environment.

• Strong background in manufacturing cost accounting and broader cost accounting principles.

• Ability to prepare, review, and resolve account reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.

• Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis for operational leadership and business stakeholders.

• Demonstrated controllership experience with knowledge of budgeting, ledger oversight, and internal financial controls.

• Familiarity with inventory accounting and the financial impact of inventory activity within manufacturing operations.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple accounting priorities in a Contract role.
