UCHealth EMS Educator - Paramedic in Windsor, Colorado

Department: PVH EMS Admin Support

Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Flex

Pay: $25.80 - $38.70 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:

Provides skill development and quality review for EMS field operations. Develops performance improvement and perception plans for staff. Advises new hires and staff responsible for field training.

Responsibilities:

Monitors clinical progress through defined statistical reports and samplings of patient care records. Utilizes quality improvement model to identify trends and coordinate a continuous improvement process.

Provides EMS educational programs internally and externally. Creates clinical policies, protocols, and procedures for review by leadership. Develops new training methods. Improves education attendance and monitors certification expiration.

Provides progress updates. Files documentation into personnel files/databases.

Researches and publishes continuing education opportunities in the region for field associates.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in related field.

  • Current and active National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (NREMT-P) certification within 1 year of hire. Colorado EMT-P certification within 90 days of hire. Instructor in ACLS, PALS, BLS or PHTLS within 18 months of hire. BLS and ACLS required. Valid driver's license required.

  • 1 year education experience or 1 year EMS leadership experience.

  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
