We are seeking a talented Software Controls Engineer to join a dynamic team dedicated to developing custom automated equipment. The role involves working on projects from the initial analysis of client needs through component selection, control software design, programming, debugging, installation, and customer support.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with a team of engineers and technicians to innovate and create first-time custom automated equipment.
Manage projects from client need analysis through to installation and final buy-off, including warranty and upgrade support.
Drive personal or company vehicles to customer facilities for project meetings, design reviews, start-up training, and follow-up reviews.
Essential Skills
Proficient programming skills in C#.NET and C++.
Ability to develop C#.NET GUI applications.
Strong capability to read schematics and understand PC-based machine controls.
Experience with servo-based motion control.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Eligibility for or possession of a valid passport.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required. Alternatively, 7 years of additional experience can be considered.
Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in automated machine controls, including hands-on debugging of real-time machine control software.
Experience in programming C#.NET/C++ for at least 3 years.
Experience with Vision Control Software and Machine Vision programming is preferred.
Experience in robotic hardware/software systems integration is a plus.
Work Environment
This position is 100% on-site, providing a hands-on environment where collaboration and innovation are key. The role may require travel to client sites for installations and support, typically involving three trips per year, each lasting around three weeks. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring adherence to project schedules and standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
