Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
The Mechanical Assembler operates automatic manufacturing equipment and performs hands-on mechanical assembly to build products according to detailed drawings and procedures. This role prepares and cleans materials, conducts product tests, documents results, and collaborates with engineering to improve assembly processes and product quality while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Responsibilities
Load and run automatic manufacturing equipment in accordance with established procedures.
Prepare and clean materials for assembly to ensure components are ready for production.
Complete mechanical assemblies per engineering drawings and written work instructions.
Use hand and power tools, including torque wrenches and wrenches, to perform precise mechanical assembly tasks.
Perform product-related tests, monitor performance, and troubleshoot failures to identify root causes.
Accurately document assembly pass/fail results and maintain clear records of work performed.
Proactively collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineer to improve assembly processes, workflow, and product quality.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following all safety guidelines and best practices.
Routinely read, understand, and follow written procedures and mechanical assembly drawings.
Handle and work comfortably with chemicals as required by the production process.
Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to support smooth production operations.
Essential Skills
Experience with mechanical assembly in a manufacturing or production environment.
Proficiency using hand tools, including wrenches and torque wrenches, for mechanical assembly.
Proficiency using power tools for assembly tasks.
Ability to read, understand, and routinely follow written procedures.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings and schematics.
Comfort working with chemicals in a controlled production environment.
Good interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and engineers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior working experience in a production environment is beneficial.
General familiarity with a variety of hand tools and power tools.
Ability to document test results and assembly outcomes clearly and accurately.
Willingness to collaborate with engineering to support continuous improvement of processes and quality.
Work Environment
This is a full-time role with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work takes place in a production and manufacturing environment that involves operating automatic manufacturing equipment, using hand and power tools, and occasionally working with chemicals in a controlled setting. The role requires maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area and following established safety procedures at all times.

This is a Contract position based out of Wilsonville, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
