Merck Sr. Technician, Facilities Maintenance in Wilson, North Carolina

Job Description

Facilities Operations & Maintenance

  • Perform facilities maintenance and repairs across the site

  • Coordinate and monitor facilities-related work including external contractors

  • Ensure timely completion and documentation of work orders and maintenance activities

Audit Readiness & Compliance

  • Assist with audit preparation, on-site support, and post-audit response for facilities-related findings

  • Drive corrective and preventive actions to reduce repeat findings and facility-related deviations

Program & Vendor Management

  • Support Pest Control Program, ensuring program effectiveness and documentation

  • Oversee and support elevator and motorized door repairs, including vendor coordination and maintenance

Planning & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in facilities impact assessments for projects, changes, or new installations

  • Support/conduct contractor training as needed

  • Partner with operations to schedule and perform corrective action

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma and5 years of experience in facilities maintenance and repairs

  • Strong knowledge of facility systems and pharmaceutical preventive maintenance principles

  • Demonstrated experience working in a regulated, audit-intensive, or quality-driven environment

  • Proven ability to coordinate contractors to execute repairs

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Preferred:

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, manufacturing, or similarly regulated industry

  • Familiarity CMMS programs and work order systems (SAP, Hexagon)

  • Experience supporting pest control, elevator, or motorized door programs

  • Experience with audit preparation, support, and response

What Success Looks Like

  • Actively working towards a reduction in facilities-related audit findings and repeat observations

  • A documented preventive maintenance program in place and consistently executed

  • Clear ownership and oversight of facilities services, including external partners

  • Measurable reductions in facility-related corrective action and maintenance costs

The salary range for this role is:

$77,700 - $122,300

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
