CTG Mechanical Engineer III in Wilmington, North Carolina
CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment a Mechanical Engineer III to support the design and integration of advanced automation equipment and precision mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on high-accuracy design, motion systems, and continuous improvement of production technologies.

Location: Wilmington, NC
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Wilmington, NC
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
Key Responsibilities
Design mechanical components, fixtures, and automation systems for manufacturing
Develop detailed CAD models and drawings (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD)
Support system integration and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams
Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance for precision and reliability
Apply motion control expertise (servo motors, stepper motors, linear actuators)
Perform simulations, validation, and engineering analysis to improve designs
Maintain technical documentation, specifications, and validation reports
Required Skills & Experience
Strong background in mechanical engineering and automation systems
Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, etc.)
Experience with precision equipment, fixtures, and material handling systems
Knowledge of heat transfer and thermal systems
Familiarity with motion control technologies and system integration
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
High attention to detail in precision engineering environments
