Actalent Mechanical Design Engineer III in Wilmington, North Carolina

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer IIIJob Description

The role of a Mechanical Design Engineer III involves demonstrating expertise in mechanical design for hardware development to support plant modifications and nuclear component design. This position requires experience in the development and implementation of First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) hardware design and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare 3D models, drawings, perform analysis, and create specifications to support hardware development.

  • Collaborate with the Tooling Team and Analysis Teams to deliver designs that meet our standards for Nuclear Quality.

  • Communicate design aspects, challenges, schedule, and progress to Field Deployment Teams, Engineering, and Project Management.

  • Perform design reviews, present designs to engineering peers and leadership, and incorporate feedback.

  • Provide technical and documentation support throughout the procurement and fabrication process.

  • Document the final design to ensure it meets all application and design requirements, including Nuclear Codes and Standards.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Inventor

  • Experience in fabrication support

  • Knowledge of GD&T

  • Expertise in Mechanical Design

  • Experience with FEA

  • Familiarity with nuclear industry standards

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field

Work Environment

The work environment involves collaboration with various teams to ensure quality standards are met. The role may require interaction with Field Deployment Teams and necessitates adherence to Nuclear Codes and Standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
