Carolina Marine Terminal is currently hiring for a Maintenance Supervisor for their location in Wilmington, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a specialized Team in safely planning, organizing and managing our Marine Terminal, ensuring Customer and Company-owned products are received, handled, and shipped in an environmentally friendly and efficient manner.

    What you'll be doing:

  • Supervise daily operations including: Truck/railcar loading and unloading, vessel unloading, stockpile management,

  • Support and supervise the maintenance efforts at the terminal. Placing emphasis on improving preventative maintenance.

  • Participate in Savage’s proactive safety programs, lead daily toolbox meetings. Promoting a safety culture within the Team that reflects a value and attitude that all Team Members are committed to safety, and work safely, even if no one is there to watch

  • Champion Execute the S7 Delivery System to ensure safe, consistent service to our Customers

  • Engaging all Team Members in the 5s efforts at the terminal, promoting an environment where Team Members are committed to professionalism and cleanliness

  • Building strong relationships with Team Members and Customers

  • Write and revise material handling and maintenance procedures as needed.

    What you need to be successful:

  • Previous leadership experience of 10+ Team Members

  • Bachelor’s degree with engineering/technical emphasis preferred

  • 3+ Years of experience and knowledge of marine terminal operations, bulk commodity handling, rail and conveying, and logistics

  • Hands-on maintenance experience with electrical, conveyors, and yellow equipment preferred

  • Must have strong leadership skills to ensure Team Members are safe, efficient, and act with integrity and professionalism

  • For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, and understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English

  • Experience in rail safety, procedures, switching, and track maintenance is preferred but not required

  • Experience developing/implementing a proactive maintenance strategy for an industrial facility, Manager+ experience preferred

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and carry out critical projects to completion

  • Savage Safety Specialist or Lead Safety Specialist designation strongly preferred

  • Savage On-deck participants are encouraged to apply

  • Must be able to work outdoors in various climates at times in excess of 12 hours, day or night shift, and during emergency situations. This terminal is a 24/7 operation during vessels, and Supervisor may be called out for critical service problems. This position is expected to be available 24/7 when a vessel is at berth.
