The I&C (Instrumentation & Controls) Technology Engineering Manager works within the I&C Engineering team of the GE Vernova Hitachi (GVH) Services Engineering organization. The I&C Technology team is responsible for designing and implementing I&C electronic hardware for I&C systems for Nuclear Power Plants. The I&C hardware technology team has strong interfaces between electronic hardware design, software design and plant system operations. This role requires technical problem solving, electronic hardware skills, software skills and effective communication/collaboration with other teams within the GVH business functions.

Summary:

The I&C (Instrumentation & Controls) Technology Engineering Manager works within the I&C Engineering team of the GE Vernova Hitachi (GVH) Services Engineering organization. The I&C Technology team is responsible for designing and implementing I&C electronic hardware for I&C systems for Nuclear Power Plants. The I&C hardware technology team has strong interfaces between electronic hardware design, software design and plant system operations. This role requires technical problem solving, electronic hardware skills, software skills and effectivecommunication/collaborationwith other teams within the GVH business functions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • You will have ownership and accountability for I&C analog and digital electronics including field programmable gate array (FPGA) designs for engineering activities that support GVH spanning the entire GVH portfolio.

  • You will be responsible for driving GVH’s Safety Quality Delivery Cost (SQDC) standards and all Environmental Health and Safetyactivities/requirementsrelated to the team.

  • You will be responsible for team CAP activities and implement all necessary corrective and preventive actions resulting from quality non-compliance monitoring and audit programs

  • You will be accountable for team Key Performance Indicator (KPI) forecast accuracy

  • You will be responsible for bid management activities ensuring engineering deliverables are well defined, estimates and resource loaded schedules are developed, risks identified, and documented.

  • You will be accountability for delivering products and services on-time and on-budget.

  • You will be responsible for team resource planning and project/program assignments.

  • You will work collaboratively across the engineering matrix and with business leaders in Product Development, Project Delivery, Sourcing and Quality to ensure close coordination of technical inputs/outputs, project/product requirements, workforce planning/scheduling and risk management.

  • You will be accountable for team individual development and knowledge management activities

  • You will have ownership to streamline, integrate and develop team technical and management processes to better support business needs across the organization through Lean and/or Six Sigma methodology.

  • You will act as a technical liaise with customers, partner organizations and suppliers as necessary and in closepartnership/coordinationwith Product Development and Project Delivery leaders.

  • Partner with business teams and presents product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior leads across GVH

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline (Electrical/Computer Programming or similar).

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a technology or engineering role

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 1 week/month to Wilmington, NC (Relocation to Wilmington, NC preferred).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with electronic hardware design and signal analysis (Altium, PSpice), schematic design, printed circuit board layout, and manufacturing

  • Knowledge and experience with common HDL languages (SystemVerilog) and FPGA development tools (Quartus, GitLab, etc.)

  • Operating at a senior level within the organization

  • Excellent writing and verbal communications skills

  • Demonstrated people management and motivation skills

  • Master’s degree or PhD in an engineering or technical discipline

  • Experience managing highly technical and diverse Engineering teams and functions

  • Strong Leadership skills

  • Knowledge of working within a regulated environment (nuclear)

  • Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000)

  • Strong organization skills

  • Strong problem solving abilities

  • Prior experience in project delivery and working within a matrix environment

  • Strong customer mindset

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure

  • Six Sigma training is preferred

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $131,700.00 and $219,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
