Job Title: Maintenance Engineer Job Description
Assist in starting up a new Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facility, focusing on facility operation, inspections, general maintenance, and equipment service. Responsibilities include training facility personnel on Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of equipment, repairing, troubleshooting, and fixing compressors, pumps, and gas meters. Additional tasks involve oil changes and fixing oil leaks on pipes, overseeing subcontractors, calibrating and maintaining field equipment, and reporting field conditions.
Responsibilities
Start up and operate the new RNG facility.
Conduct facility operation, inspections, and general maintenance.
Service and repair equipment such as compressors and pumps.
Train facility personnel on O&M of equipment.
Troubleshoot and fix compressors, pumps, meters, and gas meters.
Perform oil changes and repair oil leaks on pipes.
Oversight of subcontractors.
Calibrate, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and organize field equipment.
Perform repairs of field equipment or arrange for vendor repairs.
Report field conditions and test results to supervisor and client.
Prepare and submit daily field logs with data collected and actions taken.
Follow SOP for each site and stay updated with health & safety training.
Essential Skills
Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical repair.
Familiarity with hydraulics, preventive maintenance, and repair.
Background in chemical, oil, power plant, or liquid industries.
Experience with mechanical maintenance of compressors, pumps, and pipes.
Minimum of 1 year of mechanical plant operation and maintenance experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associates degree or military experience is preferred.
Advanced technical skills related to mechanical equipment operation and maintenance.
Must meet physical requirements for driving, walking inspections, lifting equipment, and using tools.
Ability to work under varying weather conditions.

Work Environment
The position involves outside work, exposed to weather conditions ranging from extreme heat to cool temperatures. This RNG environment requires experience in similar settings. Dress code includes steel toe boots, jeans without holes, and long sleeves. The role involves a rotating shift pattern with 40-hour weeks once the facility is operational. You will work either Monday through Friday in 8-hour shifts or 4 10-hour shifts, with on-call responsibilities in a 24/7 operation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilmington, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
