Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Wilmer, Texas. This Contract position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to financial operations while ensuring compliance with government regulations. The ideal candidate will excel in managing fixed assets, preparing journal entries, and supporting month-end close processes.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain and track fixed assets, ensuring proper capitalization and accurate reporting.
• Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
• Prepare and post journal entries while assisting in month-end close procedures.
• Support audit preparation by organizing financial documentation and ensuring readiness.
• Reconcile corporate credit card and fuel card transactions to maintain accurate records.
• Analyze and manage general ledger accounts to ensure proper financial reporting.
• Handle corporate tax and sales tax responsibilities with precision and adherence to regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve financial operations.
• Ensure compliance with government accounting standards and regulations.
• Provide financial insights and reports to support decision-making processes. Requirements • Proven experience in fixed assets management and capitalization processes.
• Expertise in preparing journal entries and managing month-end close procedures.
• Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable operations.
• Prior experience with government accounting practices and compliance.
• Proficiency in reconciling corporate credit cards and fuel cards.
• Strong knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger management.
• Ability to assist in audit preparation and documentation.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills for maintaining accurate financial records.
