Job Title: Service Engineer
Job Description
The Service Engineer is responsible for the installation and servicing of machinery at customer facilities, both in-house and in the field. The role involves troubleshooting and maintaining machinery, downloading software and updates, wiring electrical panels, and scheduling trips for installation and service calls. The candidate should have strong knowledge of machine assembly tools and electronic test equipment, as well as the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Install and service machinery at customer facilities.
Troubleshoot machinery both in-house and in the field.
Download software and updates to application software for machines.
Wire electrical panels using schematics and troubleshoot issues.
Schedule and coordinate trips for machine installations and service calls.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of machine assembly tools, tap/die, and electronic test equipment.
Utilize working knowledge of VFDs, PLCs, servo drives, motors, and electrical components.
Solve customer issues in the field.
Communicate effectively with co-workers, management, and customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Troubleshooting skills in mechanical and field service contexts.
Mechanical inclination and experience with hand tools.
Understanding of hydraulics.
Experience in equipment assembly.
Ability to set VFD parameters and exposure to VFDs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Oil and machinery experience.
Experience with motor changes.
Knowledge of electrical systems, preventive maintenance, installation, PLCs, and service.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Willowbrook, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
