Job Title: Civil Design Engineer
Description
Lead civil engineering projects from preliminary design through public bidding, ensuring quality and compliance throughout each phase
Collaborate closely with the Construction Engineering team to resolve field-related issues efficiently
Focus on municipal infrastructure projects, including roadways, utilities, and drainage systems
Work directly with Municipal Engineers and Municipal Staff to align project goals and deliverables
Supervise and mentor Staff Engineers and CAD Technicians during the design phase
Communicate effectively across teams and stakeholders to maintain project clarity and momentum
Opportunity to transition into a Municipal Engineer role based on performance and initiative

Additional Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Municipal Civil Engineering
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
Professional Engineer (PE) License - this is a plus
Proven experience navigating IDOT, MWRDGC, and County submittal processes – preferred
Strong background in Transportation and Infrastructure projects
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Highly collaborative team player with a proactive mindset
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/hr.
