Patient Transporter - Part Time (20 Hours/Week)
Schedule:
Part-time, 20 hours per week
Shifts between 11:00 AM and 12:00 Midnight
Every other weekend
Every other holiday
Position Summary
Performs safe, timely, and efficient transportation of patients, equipment, medications, and supplies to and from nursing units and other hospital departments in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Safely transport patients and adjunct equipment between patient units, treatment areas, and designated locations using prescribed transport vehicles.
Deliver supplies, equipment, medications, and other materials to patient units and designated areas in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
Ensure proper handoff of medications with nursing staff when applicable.
Inspect and disinfect transportation equipment according to departmental procedures.
Accurately document transportation activities electronically in the Transport Tracking System and/or manually on department logs and forms.
Monitor and report the status of transportation activities, including abnormal or unsafe conditions, to the manager or supervisor on duty.
Maintain a courteous, professional demeanor and communicate appropriately with patients, visitors, hospital staff, and fellow employees at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to successfully complete transport duties.
Demonstrated ability to safely operate patient transport equipment in accordance with department standards.
May work in areas where medications are stored and may transport medications while transporting patients.
Transportation of medications is limited to movement between departments and must follow established policies and procedures.
Ability to perform duties in a fast‑paced healthcare environment while maintaining safety, accuracy, and professionalism.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances
CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire, based on American Heart Association (AHA) standards, including both didactic instruction and skills demonstration.
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Pennsylvania Clearances (must be current and maintained with renewal):
Act 31 - Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting
Act 33 - Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
Act 34 - Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
Act 73 - FBI Federal Criminal History Record Check
